He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Theresa Young, Anna Caccavale, Agnes Symbouras, and Rita Thayer. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Belle Gallant, his son John (Laurie) Gallant, grandsons Brett and Lance Gallant all of Douglass, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gallant enjoyed his time ranching and spending time with his family. Gallant began his illustrious career as a crane operator for Sheffield Steel prior to owning several industrial chemical companies, dental companies and finally as CEO for American Medical Technology. Gallant served honorably during the Korean War. He then moved with his family to New York City, prior to his move to Channelview, Texas after serving for six years in the U.S. He was born in Falls River, Massachusetts to Benoit and Agnes (Cavanaugh) Gallant on December 2nd, 1933. Gallant was a resident of Douglass, Texas since 2002. ![]() Interment will follow at the Douglass Cemetery. Gallant, 86, of Douglass, Texas will be held Sunday March 22nd, 2020 at 2pm at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas with Pastor Bill Shaw officiating. He even worked on several derby cars, one that he drove as tribute to his father and late wife, that lead to a 1st place win in the truck division. He loved to be under the hood, turning wrenches and learning. When not spending time with his own family, Nathon could be found tinkering on vehicles of all types. Nathon was also a skilled tow truck driver that could be counted on, even in the worst of road conditions, to clear wreckage and assist travelers from all areas of the nation. Patsy Thorpe Gallant, 67, was born Jto the late James Larthon Thorpe and Pattie Atkins Thorpe in Holly Springs, NC and transitioned peacefully on Friday, Jat home surrounded by her loving family. He was in his element when in the woods, on the trail line of large game. Nathon’s passion for hunting is also noteworthy and some of his best hunts included the ones with his brother Tyler. He took a great deal of pride in teaching them to fish, swim and have fun. If you ask anyone who knew him what his favorite activity was, they will likely tell you “Hunting and spending time with his kids.” Nathon enjoyed taking his family into the outdoors and even had a special fishing spot he frequented where he made many memories with his children, brothers and sisters, and parents. Nathon will be remembered as a kind young man who enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and enjoying all things Wyoming. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our son, Nathon Christopher Gallant Sr. ![]()
